Trip Report!

Hello there!

Sorry for the long post, but here is our day by day trip report!

Day 1:

Arrived at Animal Kingdom Lodge, Kidani Village around 1pm and our room wasn’t ready. It was raining pretty hard so we bought ponchos and were on our way to the Magic Kingdom! Luckily the rain didn’t last very long. We grabbed a quick bite to eat at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight CafĂ© in Tomorrowland and then were off to our first fastpass. We rode Splash Mountain, Space Mountain and 7 Dwarfs mine train with FP+. We also took a ride on the Tomorrowland People Mover, Walt Disney Railroad and It’s a Small World. I was able to snag a Be Our Guest dinner reservation so we dined with the Beast in his Castle and closed out the night with a little shopping.

Day 2:

We slept in a little bit because we were having lunch for my cousin’s birthday at Sanaa in Kidani Village. Before lunch we were out looking at the savannah and I must say, it was incredible! Giraffes and zebras just walking along right in front of us! I was a bit a lot hesitant to eat at Sanaa at first because I am not an adventurous eater, but WOW. Even a picky eater like myself loved it here. If you get to go here, order the bread plate. The different kinds of Naan were unbelievable and my Tandoori Chicken was out of this world. Truly a hidden gem. I’ll make sure to give a more in depth review in a few months when I review all of the Disney World restaurants that I’ve gone to so far.

After lunch we all hopped on a bus to Hollywood Studios. We had a FP+ for Voyage of the Little Mermaid, then we had just enough time to catch the next showing of Beauty and the Beast. Once the show was over it was time for our Tower of Terror fastpass. We then grabbed a quick ice cream snack and headed towards Star Tours. During Star Tours, one person in starship is selected as a rebel spy and my brother was chosen! Being a HUGE Star Wars fan, that made his day! By the time our Star Tours ride was over it was time for our FP+ for Toy Story Mania. We had a little time to kill before our dinner reservations so we rode the Great Movie Ride and just relaxed listening to the Coolest Summer Ever dance party.

For dinner, we had reservations at 50s Prime Time with Cousin Megan! Such a fun experience! She even gave us homework, but luckily it was fun homework! Our homework was to name 20 animated Disney movies that are only 1 word. After about 10, it got incredibly difficult but we finally finished by the time dinner was over! Give it a try!

Our original plans were to finish dinner and head over to Fantasmic BEFORE the Frozen fireworks were over in order to beat the crowd. Instead, we had bad timing and were on our way just as they ended. We were almost trampled by the herds of other guest trying to get into Fantasmic. I was pretty certain that we weren’t getting in so I asked the fam if they wanted to get in line for Rock n Roller coaster instead and that is how we ended our night.

Day 3:

Today we had breakfast at ‘Ohana, a family style meal at the Polynesian Village Resort. The best thing about this meal is the character interactions. You get to see Mickey and Pluto, but also Lilo and Stitch! Having that be one of my favorite Disney movies, I absolutely love this breakfast option!

After breakfast we all headed over to Animal Kingdom. We went and saw Finding Nemo the musical and then used a fastpass+ for The Lion King show. I would highly recommend a FP+ for this show or arriving VERY early to the standby line as it seems not many standby guests get into the show. After Lion King, it was time for our Kilimanjaro Safaris FP+. One of my favorite things in all of Disney World. It was a very active day in the Harambe Reserve and we were able to see LOTS of animals. Then we grabbed a drink and it was time for our FP+ for Expedition Everest. Once we finished escaping the Yeti, we headed over to Epcot to complete our day.

Once at Epcot, we saw the line for Spaceship Earth was only 5 minutes, so we hopped on that. It was then time for dinner at Garden Grill in the Land pavilion. My best friend and I discovered this place back in May and we loved it, so I figured I’d show this awesome restaurant to my family. Garden Grill is a slowly rotating restaurant through Living with the Land. It is family style and you get to see Chip, Dale, Farmer Mickey and Pluto. The first time I ate here, the rotation made me a bit dizzy, but I had no problem this time. We originally planned to see Illuminations this night, but after an early start to our day, everyone was pretty exhausted so we headed back to our resort after dinner.

Day 4:

Today we got up early and headed to the Magic Kingdom. We got there only about a half hour after the park opened. We took advantage of this by riding a few rides and seeing a few characters with very little wait. We were able to ride Peter Pan’s Flight, Tomorrowland Speedway, People Mover, and Carousel of Progress, as well as visiting Lady Tremaine, Drizella, and Anastasia and Alice and the White Rabbit! By this time it was time for our Big Thunder Mountain Railroad FP+ so we headed on over to Frontierland and saw the Country Bear Jamboree before BTMR. Once we took the wildest ride in the wilderness, we decided to skip our FP+ for Jungle cruise and grab a bit to eat. We would have done both, but we had a Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique reservation that we didn’t want to miss.

After lunch it was time for our Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique appointments for both my brother and sister. My brother was transformed into a handsome Knight and my sister was transformed in a beautiful Princess. Once we finished, we took a train ride around the park and then it was time for our fastpass to meet Anna & Elsa. After meeting the chocolate loving sisters, we did a little shopping and relaxing until it was time for dinner.

This dinner has been my favorite for quite some time. We had dinner at 1900 Park Fare in the Grand Floridian with Cinderella, Prince Charming, Lady Tremaine, Anastasia and Drizella. What made this dinner even better was that my sister and I Disney bounded as Anastasia and Drizella which brought on a ton of fun character interaction. More on our Disney bounding day in a later post.
Being beat from such a long day, we enjoyed a Monorail ride back to the Magic Kingdom and headed back to our resort.

Day 5:

Today we were switching resorts and saying goodbye to a few of our family members as they headed home. We packed up and headed to All Star Music in a family suite. We didn’t stay long though, we just dropped our stuff off and were on our way to Epcot.

Once at Epcot, we headed to the Land Pavilion for our Soarin’ fastpass, then rode Living with the Land. We then walked on over to the Seas Pavilion and did Turtle Talk with Crush, as well as The Seas with Finding Nemo. After the seas, we decided to get in line for Test Track. The wait was fairly long, but we kept ourselves entertained by playing Heads Up on my phone. After Test track we grabbed some Mickey pretzels and ice cream before we took on Mission Space. By the time we finished Mission Space, it was time for our last fastpass of the day at Spaceship Earth. Yes, I know we already rode it, but my brother loved this ride and he was not in the best of moods by this point so we rode it again.

Once we were finished in Epcot, we took the monorail to the Contemporary and had dinner at Chef Mickey’s with Chef Mickey himself, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto and Donald! After dinner we took another monorail ride and headed back to our resort for some rest before out last full day.

Day 6:

Today we were up early and headed out to Hollywood Studios. First thing we did was wait (in a veryyyyyy long line, so long we almost missed our first fastpass) for Rock n Roller Coaster. Once we finally finished, we hurried on over to Tower of Terror for our fastpass. It was then time for our Toy Story Mania fastpass and then our Star Tours fastpass. Once we completed Star Tours, we hid from an incoming storm and grabbed a few drinks. Once the storm passed we were on our way to the Magic Kingdom for dinner.

Once in the Magic Kingdom, it was time for our early dinner at Cinderella’s Castle. We then grabbed a fastpass for Jungle Cruise and made our way to the Haunted Mansion. After we visited the 999 happy haunts we rode Aladdin’s Magic carpets, Jungle cruise with our fastpass, and did the Enchanted Tiki room. We then grabbed some Dole whips and ice cream and found a spot for the Electrical parade.

Day 7:

We packed up the car and then headed to the Magic Kingdom for the last time. We rode Seven Dwarfs Mine Train with a fastpass and then had lunch at the Crystal Palace with Winnie the Pooh and Friends. Once lunch was finished, we headed over to Space Mountain for our Fastpass, followed by our Buzz Light-year Space Ranger Spin fastpass. Our last attraction was the Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor. Once we finished up there, we went to find a spot for the Festival of Fantasy Parade near Town Hall. The parade passed, we got some great pictures and we did a little last minute souvenir shopping before leaving the most magical place on earth.

We had such a wonderful trip with tons of pictures and memories. If you want to plan a Disney Destination Vacation, send me an email at Shannon.ewing@keytotheworldtravel.com and we can start planning your pixie perfect trip!
